Léon, a taciturn, elderly man, lives in a small suburban flat. He has been living there alone for several years now, desperate to reconnect. While preparing the meal, Léon loses himself at times in a crazy phantasmagoria, where everything around him that seems inert comes to life. The objects and food interact with Léon and give him powerful experiences, giving him more and more vitality and emotion. This constant to-and-fro between a gloomy reality and a radiant imagination will only make his final return to solitude all the more violent.
On the stage, three invisible puppeteers bring Léon and his environment to life, drawing inspiration from black theatre, bunraku and puppetry. This first project by the Liège collective Le Quartête takes a wordless but humorous and magical approach to the isolation and loneliness of the elderly.
